Alyssa West

Alyssa West (she/her/Ella), is currently an Executive/Educational Administrator at the Buck
Institute in Novato, CA. She has a Bachelors Degree in Chicana/o Studies with a minor in Social
and Ethnic Relations, as well as a Master’s in Higher Education Leadership. Prior to her
position at the Buck Institute, she worked over 10 years in the Department of Chicana/o Studies at
UC Davis where she built many connections to MALCS members.
She is committed to ensuring that the MALCS website serves as a dynamic platform that reflects
the impactful contributions of MALCS and its members. Her involvement supporting the coordination of MALCS Summer Institutes in 2023 (UC Davis) and 2024 (Oaxaca, MX), as well as the design and management of the MALCS Summer Institute websites, has given her an opportunity to stay connected and provide meaningful contributions to her community.
