Lupe Gallegos-Diaz (she/her/ella),  Lupe teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the Chicanx Latinx Studies Program in the Department of Ethnic Studies at University of California, Berkeley.  She has provided first generation, low-income and marginalized students with a sense of belonging, research and internships opportunities in higher education.  Throughout her academic and administrative pursuits Lupe has been committed to addressing educational and economic inequities and advocating for social justice needs of Chicanx Latinx students, staff, alumni and communities of color in higher education.  She has also served in various leadership and advisory roles for a number of international, national and local organizations including – National advisor of the Mexican government in Higher Education – Consejera Consultiva del Institute de los Mexicanos en Exterior (CCIME); Chair of the National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies and the Administrative Coordinator for national Mujeres Activas en Letras Y Cambio Social (MALCS) a Chicana, Latina and Indigenous national organization that supports women of color in higher education; and currently Lupe is the Co-chair for the UC Chicanx Latinx Alumni Associations.  Locally, Bay Area, Lupe is currently the President of the Chicana Latina Foundation and served as Commissioner of redistricting for the City of Berkeley. 

Lupe has a Bachelors of Science in Sociology from Santa Clara University; Masters in Social Work and Certificate of Philosophy from the Ethnic Studies PhD program from University of California, Berkeley and a Certificate of Fundraising from the University of San Francisco.
