Required Qualifications:  
– Ph.D. in Chicana/o/x Studies, Latina/o/x Studies, Community Health, Public Health, Epidemiology, Mental Health, Health Science, Human Development, Environmental Health, Environmental Justice, Economics, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Urban Planning, or related fields from an accredited institution. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by or before August 17, 2022. 
– Evidence of ability to conduct applied research and/or action research using qualitative methods, quantitative methods, or both, on issues impacting the health of diverse Latinx communities   
– Evidence of ability to apply critical theories of health (e.g., social determinants of health) that demonstrate how culture, policies, and systems affect the health and wellbeing of Latinx communities 
– Demonstrated potential to apply critical theories informed by an understanding of the history of federal, state, and local policies that have created and sustained inequitable health outcomes for racial and ethnic minority communities, including women, immigrants, LBGTQ+, and other marginalized groups 
– Demonstrated potential to teach and create lower-division and upper-division courses focused on Latinx community health, quantitative analysis, and/or applied research in the Chicanx and Latinx Studies and/or related disciplines 
– Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population

Assistant Professor of Theatre and Dance / University of Wyoming, Laramie, WY

JOB PURPOSE: The candidate will teach courses in acting and performance, voice and speech and must have an additional area of expertise such as movement, styles, intimacy training, devising, or work in digital formats.  The candidate will contribute to UW Theatre & Dance production season, with a yearly directing assignment and offer support in Musical Theatre and teach in an additional area of expertise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Teaching Acting and Performance classes, complete yearly directing responsibility to fulfill creative activity/research requirement, advise and mentor students, provide service to the Department, University, and Professional discipline.  

COMPETENCIES:  Evidence of successful teaching at the university, conservatory or pre-professional level in performance, or theatre-making, voice, speech or musical theatre, as well as one additional area of expertise. Demonstrated application of current pedagogical trends. 

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: This position requires the successful candidate to be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • M.F.A. in Acting, Directing or Musical Theatre or similar performance degree with considerable professional and/or academic experience
  • A record of excellence in teaching, especially in the field of acting, vocal training, and/or musical theater support with at least one other area which distinguishes the candidate
  • Artistic and/or scholarly activity, especially in the field of acting and directing, vocal training, and/or musical theater
  • Valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.

UCSB Department of Feminist Studies: Senior Scholar in Feminist Studies

The Department of Feminist Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) invites interdisciplinary scholars at the advanced Associate or Full professor rank to apply.

The Department seeks outstanding candidates with exceptional, interdisciplinary research and excellence in teaching and mentoring, and also a clear commitment to enhancing the diversity of the faculty, graduate student community, and our undergraduate program. Demonstrated administrative experience, interest, and vision is crucial; we seek a senior scholar who would play a leadership role in the future. The field of specialty is open, and the position will remain open until filled. We especially invite candidates who will strengthen our concentrations on social justice, new sexualities, and anti-racist scholarship. We are also interested in:

• Environmental justice, including queer and gendered approaches
• Women of Color feminisms, including indigeneity and critiques of settler colonialism
• The politics of the body, including health inequalities, transfeminism, and disabilities
• Productive and sexual labors

The Department of Feminist Studies is home to the Hull Chair, the first endowed chair in women’s studies in the University of California system, and has ten full-time faculty members and numerous affiliated faculty members in the Division of Humanities and Fine Arts, Division of Social Sciences, and Gevirtz Graduate School of Education. The Department has a dynamic graduate program and offers Ph.D. and doctoral emphasis degrees. The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the University, profession, and to the community.
