Professor of Chicano Literature\/Southwest Mexican American Studies- Open Rank.<\/div>\n
The Department of Spanish and Portuguese seeks applicants for a senior appointment at the University of New Mexico (UNM), to begin in Fall 2012.<\/div>\n
Capabilities and responsibilities will include: Teaching in Chicano Literature in Spanish at the undergraduate and graduate levels, grad\/undergrad student mentoring, and service.\u00c2\u00a0 Native or Near-Native command of Spanish.\u00c2\u00a0 Proven trajectory of publications, including in bilingual and international venues.\u00c2\u00a0 Additional areas of back ground and specialization may include Gender and\/or Feminist Studies, Hispanic Literature, Critical Theory, Genre Studies (Poetry, Narrative, Theater), Cultural Studies, Critical Race Theory and Film Studies.<\/div>\n

Minimum qualifications: PH.D., publications appropriate to rank, six years university faculty experience, demonstrated excellence in teaching, evidence of mentoring of graduate\/ undergraduate students, Native or Near-Native fluency in Spanish.<\/div>\n
Special consideration will be given to candidates with one or more of the following specializations: (1) Gender Studies, (2) Critical Theory, and (3) Genre Studies.<\/div>\n
