In particular, the search is seeking a scholar whose work centers on the study of religious traditions, practices, and institutions among ethnic and racial groups in the United States. A successful candidate will be expected to contribute to one or more of the department&#8217;s current areas of strength and to teach and advise students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.<br \/>\nAppointment will start on September 1, 2012. Courses will include broad surveys introducing students to the study of religion in America and at least two courses that will focus on race, ethnicity, and religion developed in cooperation with the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity. The person appointed will be expected to interact with faculty and students who work in a variety of fields and methodologies both in Religious Studies and in the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity.
