University of Oregon. The Departments of International Studies and Women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s and Gender
\nStudies invite applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor to begin September 2012 in the
\nfield of global health and development. We seek a scholar who will hold a Ph.D. by the time of
\nappointment and whose expertise addresses one or more of the following: political, economic
\nand cultural drivers of health vulnerability and resilience; the political economy of institutions
\naddressing health related issues; variations in health and healing practices as they relate to
\nculture, development and human security; comparative healthcare delivery systems;
\nrelationships between health, education, and economic development; gender, health and
\ndevelopment; the impact of the HIV\/AIDs pandemic and other diseases; hunger, malnutrition
\nand development; and best practices in development interventions. Applicants should
\ndemonstrate a commitment to the interdisciplinary exploration of contemporary issues in
\ninternational studies and enhance the diversity efforts of both departments as well as the
\nuniversity. Candidates must have a high degree of proficiency in a language appropriate for
\ntheir regional specialization. The annual teaching load at the undergraduate and\/or graduate
\nlevels will be four courses in International Studies and one course in Women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s and Gender
\nStudies, on the quarter system. This is a paperless search.
