The Wellesley Centers for Women (WCW), an influential
\nresearch-and-action institute with the goal of generating knowledge
\nthat can lead to positive social change, seeks an Executive Director.
\nWith an operating budget of over $6 million, an endowment of $36.3
\nmillion and a staff of more than 60, the Centers are recognized
\ninternationally for groundbreaking, rigorous research and scholarship
\nthat place women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s perspectives at the center of inquiry. Located at
\nWellesley College, one of the nation\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s leading women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s colleges, WCW

\nto research, education and the empowerment of women.<\/p>\n

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a talented and dedicated
\nresearch\/program staff and administrative team and engage the WCW
\ncommunity in shaping future directions and priorities. A successful
\nExecutive Director will ensure that WCW continues to push the
\nboundaries of understanding and have significant impact in the public
\nsphere. She\/he will heighten the Centers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 visibility, attract and
\nretain top-notch researchers, and ensure that resources are in place
\nto sustain and grow the work.<\/p>\n

The position calls for a creative, deft, consultative leader with
\nexcellent strategic and communication skills. Distinguished
\nscholarship and a terminal degree in a relevant discipline are
\nrequired, as is experience in leadership roles within an organization.
\nExperience developing and carrying out a research agenda and leading
\nand motivating scholars and researchers would be excellent preparation
\nfor the role. Demonstrated passion for women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s issues is essential.
\nThe Executive Director reports to the Provost of Wellesley College and
\nworks closely with a 27 member advisory board, the Wellesley Centers
\nfor Women Board of Overseers.<\/p>\n
