In this entry, Gloria Gonz\u00c3\u00a1lez-L\u00c3\u00b3pez reflects on the unique social contexts and circumstances surrounding Mexican immigrant&#8217;s women \u00c2\u00a0journeys.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Compa\u00c3\u00b1era, tenga cuidado, what you are suggesting has the risk of dividing our immigrant communities and families.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The above comment is my paraphrase of the concerned voice of a highly committed community activist, a Mexican man I met more than a decade ago as I completed my doctoral studies in Los Angeles. Back then I was trying to engage in a conversation with him and other activist men about my ongoing research with immigrant women. In these dialogues, I was sharing information about my dissertation project and the ways in which these women were teaching me about their unique experiences of migration to the United States.
