Educators for Fair Consideration<\/strong> <\/em>are now accepting applications for our 2011 New American Scholars Program<\/a><\/strong>. We provide financial awards and support services to low-income immigrant college students who live and\/or attend school in the San Francisco Bay Area.<\/strong><\/p>\n In 2011, we will be offering scholarships of up to $10,000 to cover tuition and other college expenses. Scholars will be selected for their academic excellence, financial need, and community impact. \nIn 2010, we received 178 applications and awarded 10 scholarships totaling $50,000. Our 2010 Scholars had an average family income of $35,000. Their GPA range was 3.05 to 3.91.<\/p>\n
