{"id":50,"date":"2006-10-21T12:26:36","date_gmt":"2006-10-21T19:26:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/malcs.net\/blog\/?p=50"},"modified":"2006-10-21T12:26:36","modified_gmt":"2006-10-21T19:26:36","slug":"kicking-ass-on-breast-cancer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malcs.org\/archive-2017\/2006\/10\/21\/kicking-ass-on-breast-cancer\/","title":{"rendered":"Kicking ass on breast cancer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is another overdue post asking for good thoughts and prayers for MALCSista <strong>Luz Calvo<\/strong> and her partner <a href=\"https:\/\/malcs.org\/blog\/?p=19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><strong>Catriona Esquibel<\/strong><\/a> as they deal with Luz&#8217;s now-vanquished breast cancer.  In recent months, Luz has been diagnosed with breast cancer, had a double mastectomy, undergone chemotherapy, and is now taking tamoxifen. Luz and Catriona have made it through with the support of family, friends  and their own chingona personal strength.<br \/>\nLuz writes:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I am doing so much better now that I am done with chemo. I&#8217;m on medical leave until Winter Qtr. so I am really trying to come up with a good plan for self care and rebuilding&#8230;  Thanks for offering to post on the MALCS blog.
