The Department of Mexican American & Raza Studies (MA&RS) at the University of Arizona invites applications for an entry level Assistant\/Associate professor in the area of Mexican American\/Latina\/o border health. This tenure-track position is for the 2010-2011 academic year, beginning August 2010.<\/p>\n

The desired qualifications for this position include a Ph.D. with a focus on medical anthropology or related field, with a Mexican American\/Latino health emphasis.\u00c2\u00a0 MA&RS is seeking an individual, who has a strong interest in teaching, embraces an interdisciplinary perspective, and who has a high potential for securing extramural research funding in Mexican American\/Latino, Border Health, and\/or health disparities as they pertain to immigrant populations.\u00c2\u00a0 A letter from the dissertation chair(s) indicating the candidate?s progress and detailing a timeline to completion must be included for an ABD dossier to be considered.\u00c2\u00a0 This position is contingent upon the availability of funding.\u00c2\u00a0 MA&RS at the University of Arizona works collaboratively with key community agencies in promoting leadership and empowerment of Mexican Americans within the state of Arizona and the nation.<\/p>\n
