The Department of History at the University of North Texas announces a
\ntenure system assistant professorship in Chicana history, beginning
\nSeptember 2010.<\/p>\n

Required qualifications include Ph.D. in History, or in Chicana\/o studies,
\nno later than September 1, 2010.\u00c2\u00a0 The successful candidate\u00c2\u00b9s research and
\nteaching interests must include the area of Chicana history, and may also
\ninclude expertise in any of the following areas of study: civil rights,
\ncomparative race and ethnicity, cultural analysis, gender and sexuality,
\nlabor, migration and immigration, and transnationalism.\u00c2\u00a0 Additional desired
\nqualifications include evidence of an active research agenda and relevant
\nteaching experience appropriate to rank.<\/p>\n

The typical teaching load for productive faculty is 2\/2, with opportunities
\nto teach upper-division and\/or graduate courses. Interest in teaching
\nupper-division courses in Chicana (and Latina) history in the University
\nHonors program is preferred.<\/p>\n
