Dr. Linda Heidenreich<\/strong><\/a>, \"Lindareceived tenure and promotion to Associate Professor of Women’s Studies, Washington State University, Pullman in Spring, 2006. Linda is cranking out publications as well: she has an essay in the forthcoming 6:1 fall issue of Chicana\/Latina Studies<\/a>, titled “Learning from the Death of Gwen Araujo?: Transphobic Racial Subordination and Queer Latina Survival in the Twenty-first Century.” She also has a book in the works titled History and Forgetfulness in an American County<\/em> for the Chicana Matters<\/a> Series (UT Press).<\/p>\n

Members will receive the fall issue of Chicana\/Latina Studies <\/em>soon. If you haven’t paid up your membership, go here now<\/a> to download and mail in the membership form. Membership fees are sliding scale, and in the words of Dra. Sandra Torres, the “best deal around in professional associations!”<\/p>\n

Finally, kudos to Dr. Rocio Delgado<\/strong>, Assistant Professor of Education at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX who has finished her UT Austin dissertation (title?). She is beginning her second year at Trinity University.<\/p>\n

Trinity is also fortunate to have recent hires Rosana Blanco-Cano<\/strong> (Ph.D. Tulane University) and Debra Ochoa<\/strong> (Ph.D. University of Texas at Austin), joining the Department of Modern Languages. Rosana researches Spanish-American literature and culture, and Debra works on twentieth century Spanish Peninsular Literature\/Film and Spanish Women Writers.<\/p>\n
