Dear MALCSistas,<\/p>\n

It is our pleasure to announce that our first, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153herstorical,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d electronic election designated the following two members as the newest addition to the leadership of MALCS. They will begin their terms on August 07, 2016.<\/p>\n

\"CeciliaDr. Cecilia \u00e2\u20ac\u0153C.C.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d J. Arag\u00c3\u00b3n is our next Chair-Elect (2016-2017). This is a three-year position that transforms into the Chair (2017-2018) and into the Chair Ex-Oficio (2018-2019). Dr. Arag\u00c3\u00b3n is currently the Director of the Latina\/o Studies Program, an Associate Professor of Theatre and Dance, and a Faculty Affiliate of the Gender and Women’s Studies Program at the University of Wyoming. She is also our co-host for the MALCS Summer Institute next week (August 3-6) in Laramie, WY.<\/p>\n

\"SandraDr. Sandra M. Pacheco is our new At-Large Representative (2016-2018). She is an Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies.<\/p>\n

We enthusiastically welcome you both to the Executive and the Coordinating Committees and have no doubt that your energy will help us move MALCS forward.<\/p>\n

We also sincerely appreciate each of the candidates who participated in this election and who were\/are willing to share their time and effort with our beloved organization and its members.<\/p>\n

May we always remember that MALCS is what we make it! In these socio-politically trying times, especially for folks like us, we must continue to work together in order to consistently provide this safe, encouraging, empowering, and necessary space.<\/p>\n
