More importantly, it makes Alicia Gaspar de Alba &#8220;wildly ecstatic&#8230;&#8221; \ud83d\ude09  Catri\u00c3\u00b3na is Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University.  Don&#8217;t miss her website, an annotated bibliography, <a href=\"https:\/\/womens-studies.osu.edu\/jotas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">20th Century Queer Chicana Fictions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marta Sanchez<\/strong>&#8216;s latest work <img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" align=\"right\" alt=\"Shakin' Up Race\" id=\"image13\" title=\"Shakin' Up Race\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.malcs.org\/archive-2017\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2006\/08\/shakinguprace.jpg?ssl=1\" \/> is <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.utexas.edu\/utpress\/books\/sansha.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">&#8220;Shakin&#8217; Up&#8221; Race and Gender: Intercultural Connections in Puerto Rican, African American, and Chicano Narratives and Culture (1965-1995)<\/a><\/em>. Marta &#8220;creates an intercultural frame to study the historical and cultural connections among Puerto Ricans, African Americans, and Chicanos\/as since the 1960s.&#8221; Marta is Professor of Literature at Arizona State University and Professor Emerita at the University of California, San Diego, where she taught from 1977 to 2004.<\/p>\n<p>Few scholars are more experienced and respected than literary critic <strong>Tey Diana Rebolledo<\/strong>. <img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" align=\"left\" alt=\"Panchita Villa\" id=\"image14\" title=\"Panchita Villa\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.malcs.org\/archive-2017\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2006\/08\/panchitavilla.gif?ssl=1\" \/> In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utexas.edu\/utpress\/books\/rebchr.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><em>The Chronicles of Panchita Villa and Other Guerrilleras: Essays on Chicana\/Latina Literature and Criticism<\/em><\/a>, she brings together old and new works to encourage &#8220;guerrillera&#8221; warfare against academia that will open the literary canon to Chicana\/Latina writers. Beginning with a brief introductory essay about her own experiences as the daughter of a Mexican mother and Peruvian father, Rebolledo goes on to discuss &#8220;the historical development of Chicana writing&#8230;the representation of Chicanas as seen on book covers, Chicana feminism, being a Chicana critic in the academy, Chicana art history, and Chicana creativity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>All three titles are part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utexas.edu\/utpress\/subjects\/chicana.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Chicana Matters<\/a> series edited by Deena J.
