{"id":182,"date":"2008-08-08T23:19:34","date_gmt":"2008-08-09T06:19:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/malcs.net\/blog\/?p=182"},"modified":"2008-08-08T23:19:34","modified_gmt":"2008-08-09T06:19:34","slug":"signs-cfp-stimpson-prize-for-outstanding-feminist-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malcs.org\/archive-2017\/2008\/08\/08\/signs-cfp-stimpson-prize-for-outstanding-feminist-scholarship\/","title":{"rendered":"**SIGNS CFP: Stimpson Prize for Outstanding Feminist Scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>* * CALL FOR PAPERS * *<br \/>\n* The Catharine Stimpson Prize for Outstanding Feminist Scholarship*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Deadline: September 20, 2008<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\nThe University of Chicago Press is pleased to announce the competition for the 2009 Catharine Stimpson Prize for Outstanding Feminist Scholarship.\u00c2\u00a0 Named in honor of the founding editor of Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society, the Catharine Stimpson Prize is\u00c2\u00a0 designed to recognize excellence and innovation in the work of emerging feminist scholars.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Catharine Stimpson Prize is awarded biannually to the best paper in an international competition.\u00c2\u00a0 Leading feminist scholars from around the globe will select the winner.\u00c2\u00a0 The prize-winning paper will be published in <em>Signs<\/em>, and the author will be provided an honorarium of $1,000. All papers submitted for the Stimpson Prize will be considered for peer review and possible publication in Signs.<\/p>\n<p>Eligibility:\u00c2\u00a0 Feminist scholars in the early years of their careers (less than seven years since receipt of the terminal degree) are invited to submit papers for the Stimpson Prize.\u00c2\u00a0 Papers may be on any topic that falls within the broad rubric of interdisciplinary feminist scholarship. Papers submitted for the prize must be no longer than 10,000 words and must conform to the guidelines for Signs contributors.\u00c2\u00a0 Guidelines for submission are available at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.journals.uchicago.edu\/Signs\/instruct.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">https:\/\/www.journals.uchicago.edu\/Signs\/instruct.html<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadline for Submissions: <\/strong> The deadline for submissions for the next Catharine Stimpson Prize is September 20, 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Please submit papers online at https:\/\/signs.edmgr.com. Be sure to indicate submission for consideration for the Catharine Stimpson Prize in the cover letter.
