Following the spirit and mission of MALCS, the coeditors are interested in publishing the work(s) of participants who complete the workshop. Participants will come away from the workshop with clear recommendations for meeting internal criteria of Chicana/Latina Studies, specific editorial direction for their work, and first-hand knowledge about our feminist editorial process.

Each workshop has space for 8 participants, who must register for the Summer Institute and pay membership dues for 2007-2008.

With verification of membership and registration, applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

We encourage applications from writers at all professional levels.

Please apply for only one type of workshop (Creative Writing or Essay Writing).

THE WORKSHOP WORKS!!!
Although participation does not guarantee publication, the information and experience facilitates the submission and double-blind-peer review process.

We celebrate the following successes:

Dora Ramirez-Dhoor (published in 5:1)
Rosalia Solorzano Torres (5:1)
Ann Marie Leimer (5:2)
Patricia Trullijo (6:1)
and
Gabriella Gutierrez y Muhs (accepted for publication)
Marivel T.
