Workshop Description:
\nI am \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcstaying home\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 this summer and in that staying, invite writers (over twenty-five-years old) \u00e2\u20ac\u201c all genres & all levels \u00e2\u20ac\u201c to engage in what I have come to know as the fundamentals to a productive writing practice. They are: a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153beginner\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s mind\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (as founded in Zen Buddhism) and an indigenous approach to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153authenticity\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in our work and in our words; through w(riting), we return to our home-knowledges, languages, and geographies to uncover what is profoundly original in us as artists, writers and thinkers. -Cherr\u00c3\u00ade Moraga<\/p>\n

Schedule:
\nFriday (8\/3) – 7pm to 10 pm.
\nSaturday (8\/4) – 10am to 4pm + “Palabra de Fuego” @ 7pm.
\nSunday (8\/5)- 10am to 5pm<\/p>\n

Application Process: DUE JULY 15th
\nPlease provide a personal statement (250-500 words) that responds to the questions below. Write using your natural (writing\/speaking) voice. This is not a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153work sample,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d but a way to express a small moment of the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153writing-you\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in advance of the workshop. (Questions with a * are required.)<\/p>\n
