Elections for open positions on the MALCS Executive (EC) & Coordinating Committees (CC) take place annually at the Summer Institute.<\/p>\n

In 2016, we are launching an online election process consistent with the bylaws<\/a> which will occur in the month prior to the Summer Institute (July 5<\/del> 15-July 25, 2016).<\/p>\n

For candidates who seek Executive Committee positions, the MALCS Executive Committee serves as the decision-making body for the organization and meets monthly via internet and in person twice a year: in Winter (midyear) and at the Summer Institute. MALCS provides limited travel support to EC members for these meetings.<\/p>\n

MALCS ELECTIONS TIMELINE<\/h2>\n

June 1st -\u00c2\u00a0Nominations<\/a> open.<\/p>\n

June 15th – All candidates must be active members of MALCS by this date in order to be listed on the ballot.<\/p>\n

June 25th \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Close of nominations.<\/p>\n

June 25th – All candidates must complete a candidate statement<\/a> to be listed on the ballot.<\/p>\n

June 30th<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u201c Date of active membership to determine voting eligibility.<\/p>\n

July 5th<\/del> 15th – Electronic voting information sent to active MALCS members.<\/p>\n

July 25th – End of Electronic Voting.<\/p>\n

July 29th -\u00c2\u00a0Announcement\u00c2\u00a0of\u00c2\u00a0 election result.<\/p>\n

In the event of a tie, the result announcement will be delayed and the Executive Committee will determine the election through a vote of the sitting Executive Committee and the Coordinating Committee.<\/p>\n

August 2-6, 2016 – \u00c2\u00a0Installation of new officers at Summer Institute<\/p>\n
