Dear MALCS Members:<\/p>\n

We are excited to announce the call for nominations<\/strong> for the Executive and Coordinating Committees.<\/p>\n

In 2016, we are taking nominations for the following two positions: Chair-Elect<\/a> (three-year term) and one Representative at Large<\/a> (two-year term).<\/p>\n

MALCS will be accepting nominations June 1-June 25, 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We invite all members to participate in the nominations and the elections<\/a> this year and to consider running for office. MALCS needs your energy, talent, and skills!<\/p>\n

The ideal candidate should:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. be a current member of MALCS or have been a member in the past.<\/li>\n
  2. have served previously in a leadership position with a community and\/or an academic organization.<\/li>\n
  3. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153pledge to acknowledge, value, and employ feminist principles and frameworks in our organizational practices\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (article II section 2 of the MALCS bylaws<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Currently, our Nominations Committee is composing a slate of candidates for the election.<\/p>\n

    If you want to nominate someone else, please make sure this person<\/p>\n

    1) is or will become a member of MALCS<\/strong>,<\/p>\n

    2) has agreed to run in our election, and<\/p>\n

    3) agrees to serve in the leadership of MALCS if elected. Current members may also self-nominate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Be prepared to submit the following information about a nominee:<\/p>\n

    1. Full name (and title, if available)<\/li>\n
    2. Their current institution\/organization<\/li>\n
    3. e-mail address and phone number<\/li>\n
    4. Capacity in which this person has worked with MALCS (15 word limit)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      PLEASE NOTE:<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. All nominators and nominees must be current members of MALCS (click here<\/a> for membership status or renewal).<\/li>\n
      2. Each nominee will run for only one position at a time.<\/li>\n
      3. The nominations committee will contact each nominee requesting a candidate\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s statement (100 word limit) that articulates their interest in and qualifications for serving MALCS. This candidate statement will be due no later June 30, 2016<\/strong> and it will be available to members during the online voting period.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Elections will take place online: July 5-July 25, 2016. <\/strong><\/p>\n
