Job: Anthropology/Mesoamerican Archaeology at Yale University

Yale University, Department of Anthropology, seeks applications for a tenuretrack assistant professor position in Mesoamerican archaeology to begin on July 1, 2012. The successful candidate will teach both undergraduate and graduate students and also participate in the multidisciplinary Archaeological Studies program. The Department of History at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the College of Arts and Sciences. Initial appointment to this position will be for a term of four years, beginning the first semester of the 2012-13 academic year, and will carry the rank of assistant professor.

The incumbent will teach courses in the general area of Early American history through the Early Republic, with a specialization in Native American history. Teaching expectations include: American history survey to 1877; Native American history survey; upper-level course work in Native American history; and Colonial/Revolutionary/Early Republic history.

The History Department and the Commonwealth Honors College (CHC) of the University of Massachusetts Amherst invite applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Transnational Spanish-Speaking History beginning 1 September 2012.  Duties include teaching in both the History Department and the CHC, undergraduate and graduate student advising; departmental and university wide service.  Preference will be given to candidates whose research and teaching specialties focus on the study of Spanish-speaking people in Europe, Latin America, and the United States. We expect the successful candidate to draw upon other existing strengths in the department, including the Public History program. Qualifications: Firm expectation of Ph.D. in History or related area by the time of appointment.
